Sherry Jones has, in the past few weeks, conducted a number of interviews to manage the backlash her book has stirred up. She has gone to great lengths to try and paint her book as innocuous, declaring her intentions were good. One of the outcomes of this book is the restating of slander against Rasool Allah (salAllahu alaihi wasallam). For a very long time a motley crew of anti-Islam/pro Christianity proponents and self-proclaimed defenders of ‘Judeo-Christian civilization from the global jihad’ have made allegations against the relationship between the Prophet (salAllahu alaihi wasallam) and his wives. In particular the attack has centred on what is perceived as being the Achilles heel of the Muslims, namely the Prophet’s (salAllahu alaihi wasallam) marriage to Aisha.
